My dear domestic worker's mother passed away last week and she has been on the family farm attending to all things familial for almost 2 weeks on and off. This has meant that I am doing the housework along with everything else I have to do in a day.

I generally try to not bail my kids out when they forget something at home but this week I really had to be just mom and forget the life lessons.

It was photo day yesterday and my daughter forgot to wear a white shirt under her school dress, as was required. When a friend of mine saw her at school without it, he called me to rescue her. I didn't even hesitate. She is normally always responsible so instead of trying to teach her a lesson, I went to the rescue.

Lessons can wait for another day.....
