When my children were younger, my awesome sister-in-law taught me such an easy way to organise their puzzles, that when I realised many of my clients were struggling with the same problem, I hit upon a plan - make the system available to all! So, Neat Freak is proud to launch the NEAT PUZZLES system that will save you loads of space and money from incomplete puzzles (not to mention eliminate the tantrums when your child can't finish their masterpiece). NEAT PUZZLES - the perfect system to organ... Continue reading ...

Last week-end, the kids' rooms were shambolic and I actually just ignored it (rather good going for a Neat Freak) until I hit upon a plan. What if I put those rooms to the '5-min system test', which basically was that I would set the timer for 5 minutes and we would see if we could get them sorted in that time using the systems that exist in that space. So, came Sunday afternoon, that is what I did with my daughter by my side and pretty soon, order was restored in the allotted five mins! (Here... Continue reading ...

You know that sinking feeling you get when you suddenly realise that the sun has risen and the birds are tweeting louder than normal and you're meant to be up? WELL, I had that feeling x2 this week-end when I realised that the Easter bunny hadn't deposited his eggs because he hadn't set the alarm and therefore overslept! Needless to say, I instructed the kids to 'be gone' which they clearly understood as 'go away so I can hide your chocolates' and they very soon called me on it! I guess the Eas... A while back, I received feedback from the Principal of La Lucia Primary School, Morag Bennett, on the free PARENTING pack which was both helpful and encouraging. Since then, I have met with Morag and she has REVIEWED AND APPROVED the FULL Neat Freak PARENTING pack. "I am the Principal of La Lucia Junior Primary School and I found the Neat Freak site through Deb of MomsMatter. I would love to be able to share tips of all kinds with the parents and children in our school. Parents often under est... Continue reading ...
I had one of those nights last night - you know the one, where your child is ill and although you feel for them, you also wish they would hurry up and get better so you can go to sleep? My son suffers from allergies to dust and I really try to keep his environment clean and dust-free but it is impossible to maintain. I wash his linen religiously, have his room wiped down once a week and have containers for all his toys so that dust doesn't collect on them. Despite this he still has nights lik... My philosophy with my kids is that they should organise their things for school themselves. It is important that they become more responsible. But last night I find myself hurrying about doing all sorts of things in their rooms and my husband comes into the room and asks me what I was doing? Had I forgotten the lessons that I try to teach everyone about? I could only reply that I AM ONLY HUMAN and some days, the philosophy slips a little! Continue reading ...
